چکیده

The manuscript presents a thematic analysis of U.S. adult sample’s self-reported motives and perception environmental activists’ to engage in pro-environmental behavior via qualitative online survey. I identified themes using two-stage coding procedure. First, undergraduate research assistants coded all content into 1 or more 17 inductive categories. Second, examined the categories created five based on both theoretical considerations: (a) harm care, (b) purity, (c) waste efficiency, (d) spreading awareness, (e) self-interest (mostly non-financial). Some (harm care; preserving purity; self-interest) were consistent with previous theory, but efficiency awareness have been less explored by work as key motivators behavior, suggesting ripe avenues for future research. Conversely, some factors that proposed possible not described participants present work. endorsement was qualitatively similar across individuals’ descriptions their own vs. motives. Collectively, these findings suggest common partially aligns commonly psychology literature, discrepancies warrant further investigation.

Children's Motives for Admitting to Prosocial Behavior

There has been extensive research on children's moral evaluation of lying in prosocial situations. Current knowledge regarding the concept of lying has been derived from studies showing that cultural differences exist, whereby non-Western children tend to rate lie telling more positively than Western children do. These findings suggest that there are different views about whether children shoul...

Implicit motives and sexual motivation and behavior

Measures of implicit power and affiliation motivation, libido, and sexual intercourse were administered three times to 36 women and 18 men (mean age: 22.17 years, SD 1⁄4 2:25) and then aggregated. Reports of sexual intercourse correlated positively with the power motive (r 1⁄4 :28, p < :05) and negatively with the affiliation motive (r 1⁄4 :47, p < :0005). These correlations tended to be strong...

Highlighting relatedness promotes prosocial motives and behavior.

According to self-determination theory, people have three basic psychological needs: relatedness, competence, and autonomy. Of these, the authors reasoned that relatedness need satisfaction is particularly important for promoting prosocial behavior because of the increased sense of connectedness to others that this engenders. In Experiment 1, the authors manipulated relatedness, autonomy, compe...

Gender was the best p...

Biextensions of 1-motives by 1-motives

Let S be a scheme. In this paper, we define the notion of biextensions of 1-motives by 1-motives. Moreover, if M(S) denotes the Tannakian category generated by 1-motives over S (in a geometrical sense), we define geometrically the morphisms of M(S) from the tensor product of two 1-motives M1⊗M2 to another 1-motive M3, to be the isomorphism classes of biextensions of (M1, M2) by M3: HomM(S)(M1 ⊗...
